Steven Myers is a successful four-time CEO and serial entrepreneur, director of public and private company boards, CEO coach, public speaker, author, and aviator. He has conducted business in a dozen countries in Europe and Asia. He is an Ernst & Young “Entrepreneur of the Year” for Software and Information Services. He graduated from Stanford University with a BS in Mathematics, is a two-time US Air Force veteran, and a recipient of the California Governor’s Special Recognition Award, and the FAA Wright Brothers Award.

Steven founded SM&A, Inc., which grew into a NASDAQ-listed $110 million annual revenue international management consulting firm serving aerospace & defense, aviation, telecommunications, and other high-tech industry clients. After a very successful IPO in 1998, he served as Chairman and CEO for ten years before the company was sold to private equity in 2008. His private equity investment company, Dolphin Capital Holdings, Inc., has interests in a broad array of enterprises.

A nationally recognized thought leader on business competitiveness, Steven is a frequent guest lecturer on entrepreneurship at the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business. He served three terms on the US Department of State Advisory Committee on International Economic Policy. He also served on the Department of Homeland Security Advisory Council Task Force on Cyber Resources.

Steven is a highly accomplished aviator, holding an Airline Transport Pilot license with eleven jet type ratings. With more than 6,000 hours of flight time, he received the FAA’s highest civilian award in 2020, the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award.

DCH, Steven’s private equity investment company, invests in businesses with innovative market-driven strategies. He frequently works with the management teams of his investments to improve operational and strategic effectiveness. His focus is on providing expertise in business assessment, valuation, due diligence, mergers & acquisitions, negotiations, and board governance. Portfolio investments have included: aerospace, cyber security, bio-sciences, bio-technology, medical devices, alternative energy, distressed debt, and commercial real estate.

STEVEN MYERS & ASSOCIATES, INC. (SM&A) (Formerly NASDQ: WINS)

(1982 – 2008)

Steven founded SM&A, Inc., which grew into a NASDAQ-listed $110 million international management consulting firm (NASDAQ: WINS). SM&A specialized in helping aerospace & defense, aircraft, telecommunications, and other high-tech industry clients win complex competitive programs. Growing SM&A to more than 800 employees, Myers spearheaded industry-changing innovations for winning U.S. government contracts. During his 25-year tenure, the company managed more than $360 billion in major program competitions in the US and internationally. He consulted on, and negotiated, international business agreements in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Kuwait, Korea, Australia, and Russia. After a very successful IPO in 1998, he served as Chairman and CEO for ten years before the company was sold to private equity in 2008.

In 1992, Steven received the Governor of California’s Special Recognition Award for anti-discriminatory employment practices. In 1998, he received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award for Software & Information Services. In 2007, he received a special recognition award from the Lockheed Skunk Works for exceptional services.

THE CALIFORNIA KAMCHATKA COMPANIES (CKC)

(1992 – 1996)

In 1992, at the end of the Cold War, Steven became the first American since Charles Lindbergh in 1931, to pilot an aircraft into the Russian Kamchatka peninsula. There, he formed one of the first post-Soviet era joint ventures—a pioneering, expansive, business enterprise with the potential to transform the lives of the people of the Russian Far East. Phase 1 involved converting the Russian military airbase at Petropavlovsk into the preferred refueling stop for international cargo carriers. Hundreds of wide-body commercial cargo carrier aircraft were serviced. Phase 2 intended the addition of commercial airline services into Petropavlovsk by Alaska Airlines and the creation of an ICAO certified international passenger terminal. Phase 3 intended to transform the Russian Far East into a viable economy.

In 1995, Steven gave expert testimony before the United States House Committee on Government Operations on best practices for conducting business in Russia.

SUMMITJETS, INC.

(1994 – 2007)

Steven owned and led a FAA Part 135 charter and jet aircraft management business, operating out of John Wayne Airport (SNA), for 13 years. Principle aircraft managed were Gulfstream IV, Hawker 800XP and various Citation aircraft. The company conducted flight operations all over the world. Steven was a Part 135 certified captain in all aircraft managed and enjoyed an excellent professional reputation with the Long Beach FSDO, aircraft insurance underwriters, FSI and CAE training companies.

Steven is a 6,000-hour+ Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) with twelve jet type ratings, including the Boing 777. In 2020, he received the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award from the FAA for 50 years of accident-free flying.
